outlast: The jungle

Role: Assistant Camera

Outlast: The Jungle is a Netflix survival competition series that drops contestants into the Panamanian jungle, where they must survive the elements, navigate team dynamics, and compete for a $1 million prize.

I worked on the series as an Assistant Camera, supporting the camera department in a fast-moving, rugged field-production environment. My responsibilities included helping maintain camera readiness, supporting the visual team during active production, assisting with the technical and logistical demands of shooting unscripted television in unpredictable outdoor conditions, and even doing some shooting of my own.

This project gave me valuable experience working on a large-scale Netflix unscripted series, where documentary instincts, technical precision, and adaptability were essential to capturing the story as it unfolded. I also got stung by a scorpion and it didn’t even hurt*.

*I panicked.
